Become a Junior Marine Biologist for the day

Live a day in the life of a Marine Biologist and become passionate about our oceans!

Spend the morning with our resident Marine Biologist and learn about our beautiful oceans and marine life through a series of fun ‘hands on’ activities.

This unique program is designed to engage and educate children on the importance of protecting our oceans, the threats of climate change and what we can be doing to help. Learn how Fitzroy Island is committed to sustainability and conservation through our various programs and brainstorm what we can be doing in our everyday lives.

Kids will participate in a variety of activities including fish feeding, water quality testing, experiments and beach-combing. This program includes refreshments and your very own certificate to take home!

The Details 

  • When: Held every Sunday with additional sessions during busy periods (subject to change).
  • Duration: 9am to 12pm – 3 hours
  • Ages: Minimum age 8+ years
  • Includes: Activities include a beach-combing, fish feeding, water quality testing and experiments. Includes refreshments and a certificate.
  • Cost: $45.00 per child

What to bring:

  • Sun protection – hat, sunglasses & sunscreen.
  • Water bottle
