Fitzroy Island Sports Hub (FISH)

Explore the beauty of Fitzroy Island with a range of water based activities including snorkeling, kayaking, stand up paddle board, guided tours and special programs for Kids.

Please note, it is advised to also bring cash to the island if you’re going to hire any of the “What’SUP” equipment including stand up paddle board, kayaks etc.

Marine Conservation Program

Take part in our Marine Conservation Program on Fitzroy Island and assist our team and two non for profit organisations while contributing to the preservation, protection and rehabilitation of fragile marine ecosystems and threatened marine species of the Great Barrier Reef.

Glass Bottom Boat Tours

Departing twice times daily, glass bottom boat tours allow you to get up close and personal with the Great Barrier Reef! The sheltered waters around Fitzroy Island are abound with soft coral and marine life including wild sea turtles.

Visit the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre

The Fitzroy Island location of Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre opens its doors for talks (Tuesday-Sunday) allowing people to learn about the history of the centre and the journey to recovery which injured or sick turtles undergo whilst at this centre, prior to their release back into the ocean.

Educational & Student Tours

Fitzroy Island welcomes school and educational groups, come for the day or camp overnight.  Explore the living reef off the island, the National Park and Turtle Rehabilitation Centre.

Campground

The Council Campground is located next to the beach; only 5 minutes stroll from the Jetty and is managed by the Fitzroy Island Resort. It has approximately 20 tent sites, a shower block, beachfront BBQ and pergola cover for eating areas.
