Water Activities
The Fitzroy Island Sports Hub (FISH) offers an abundance of water activities to explore the calm sheltered waters of Welcome Bay which are teaming with soft coral and marine life, waiting to be explored. Keep an eye out for the friendly Sea Turtles!

Turtle Rehabilitation Centre Talks
Join our resident Marine Biologist to learn what it takes to rehabilitate sick or injured sea turtles and meet some of the patients receiving treatment at the centre on Fitzroy Island. Discover more.
Reef Restoration Talks
Learn about the impressive works of the Reef Restoration Foundation that have planted multiple coral nurseries of Fitzroy Island in an effort to harvest and plant new corals on the damaged areas of the Great Barrier Reef. Discover more.
Reef Restoration Hands On
Spend the morning with one of our resident Marine Biologists and learn about the Reef Restoration Foundation with this hand on program. Assist with the collection of healthy corals that are planted nearby at the Coral Nursery which you will see first hand with a guided snorkelling tour.
Eye on the Reef Program
Have the chance to be apart of this with a hands on program that enables our Marine Biologist to contribute to the reef’s protection by capturing and collecting valuable information about marine animals, reef health, incidents and any unusual and amazing experiences that our staff and guests encounter.

Go on a guided tour around the Resort to learn about the ways we are minimising our ecological impact through our operations and partnerships and how we aspire to remain sustainable with our natural resources.
DIY Workshops
Discover how to make your own body scrubs out of things you probably already have in your home! All ingredients used are organic or locally sourced, with an emphasis on sustainability.
Beach Clean Up
This fantastic initiative is done in accordance with Tangoroa Blue, a non-profit organisation that is focused on the health of our marine environment. Since the program started in 2004, more than 13 million pieces of marine debris have been removed from the Australian coastline, and counting!
Bush Tucker Guided Walks
Join our knowledgeable staff on a 30-45-minute tour of the resort grounds looking into the private life of plants. Topics include the different kinds of edible plants, traditional indigenous uses, modern plant use and the history of the island.
Restorative Activities
Get into the swing of island living and relax with our restorative activities or simply enjoy free time to relax on the beach, sit by the pool or enjoy a sundowner at Foxys Beachfront Bar.
Yoga & Stretch on the Jetty
Start the day with a spectacular island sunrise and a gentle yoga and stretch class on the jetty. Classes can be tailored to your preference.
Macrame Workshops
During this workshop you will learn about the different Macrame knots and the types of things you can make using them. Includes your own Macrame Key Chain to take home.
Lighthouse Guided Walks
Go on a guided walk to the lighthouse and experience the incredible views over the island and across the Coral Sea to the mainland. Learn about the history of Fitzroy Island and locate various objects left behind by the Lightkeepers.
Self-Guided National Park Walks
We have 5 walking trails around the island including the easy Secret Garden Walk and the walk to Nudey Beach named Australias #1 Best Beach. We also offer guided ‘Bush Tucker’ and ‘Naturalist’ walks of the resort grounds exploring the various traditional uses of plants from food to medicine and tools.
