Fitness Classes on Fitzroy Island

Do you like to stay active while on holiday? Fitzroy Island Resort have you covered with a range of classes provided complimentary to our overnight guests. Classes are hosted by our experienced Tours & Activities Coordinator and include Yoga, Meditation, Zumba and Fitness Classes for adults and kids (aged 4 years and over when accompanied by an adult)

Classes are held at various locations around the island including The Jetty, Welcome Bay, Nudey Beach and our Welcome Bay Studio overlooking the Coral Sea. Please be advised activities are subject to availability and may change seasonally. Bookings are essential via Reception.

Sun & Moon Yoga on the Jetty

Move and connect with your body and heart on the jetty watching Fitzroy Island’s famous sunset transition to night under the stars and moonlight.

Yoga mats and extras are provided. Maximum 8 people. Bookings are essential via Reception.

Sol Yoga & Morning Walk to Nudey Beach

Meet at the Tour Desk to walk to one of Australia’s most beautiful beaches named #1 in 2018. Stretch and bend – this class is designed to awaken your body and enjoy the magic together on Fitzroy island.

Inhale natures beauty before starting your day with Sheree’s Sol Yoga. Enjoy the colours of the sun rising on the white sandy beach whilst awakening your body with Sparkly Ying (Moon) and Strong Yang (Sun) poses to start you day on the Island or before departing on the morning Fitzroy Flyer.

Yoga mats are provided. Bookings are essential via Reception – this class books out weekly so book early to avoid disappointment.

Yoga & Meditation

This unique blend of Meditation and Yoga is designed specifically for Self Care and includes alignment, breathing techniques and mastering connecting your mind body and heart whilst toning the body. This class uses movement analysis and Hatha yoga fusion.

Classes are held in the Welcome Bay Studio overlooking the Coral Sea. Yoga mats are provided.

Workout Wednesdays

Be surprised this class changes weekly, promising an all over body workout with resistance toning & cardio exercise for all fitness levels. Location changes depending on the weather & class structure varies from HIIT, core, aqua aerobics, boxing & island workouts. Just show up with water and get ready for workout fun!

Participants will be given the chance to talk to our instructor for any tips on fitness.

Barefoot Zumba

Dance shake and have fun burning maximum calories whilst admiring some of the most beautiful views on the island from our Welcome Bay Studio overlooking the Coral Sea.

This is a highlighted class taught around the world and choreographed by our resident instructor, winning various awards for its energy and engagement whilst boosting calorie burn.

Jump dance and shake whilst burning the calories away with your family and friends!

Kids Fitness Class

Our Tours & Activities Coordinator specialises in kids fitness offering various children’s fitness activities designed to give your kids a fun environment to burn off their energy whilst making new friends on the Island.

The classes may include a selection of  outdoor sports/games including:

  • Kids Yoga on the beach
  • Kids movement patterns
