*Important COVID-19 Update* Temporary Closure of Fitzroy Island Resort

To all of our Valued Guests,

Firstly, we hope that everyone is safe and well during these unprecedented times. We extend our sympathy to those whose lives and jobs have been impacted by COVID-19 and hope that everyone will come out on the other side safe and well.

We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support, patronage and loyalty over the years. These are uncharted waters and we wish to thank our incredible team who are working tirelessly during these difficult times.

Following the Australian Government’s announcement on Sunday 22nd March 2020 restricting all non-essential travel and enforcing social distancing, Fitzroy Island Resort has reluctantly had to make the decision to place further restrictions on travel to the island as the health and well-being of our guests, staff and community are of utmost importance to us.

The Island will be closed from Sunday 29th March 2020. At this time, Fitzroy Island Resort plans to resume operations for guests on the 15th May 2020. The Resorts leadership team will assess the unfolding situation over the coming weeks and provide updates at www.fitzroyisland.com/blog/COVID-19

We are committed to supporting our guests who hold bookings during this period to reschedule, obtain a credit voucher or cancel free-of-charge. If you are booked to stay with us in the coming weeks, our Reservations Agents will be reaching out to contact you directly over the next few days, prioritising guests with imminent travel plans. If you have booked through an agent, you will need to speak with them regarding your reservation and their terms. During this temporary closure, you can also reach out to us via email (stay@fitzroyisland.com) or via Facebook Messenger. Our agents will get back to you as soon as they can.

Please be aware that due to the sheer volume of refunds we have to process, there is a longer than normal delay on processing these transactions. At this stage we are processing as quickly as possible however there is no ETA on when they will be completed.

Even though we are temporarily unable to welcome guests, you will be happy to know that we will have a group of ‘volunteers’ keeping the island pristine! Our volunteers will work on improving the product, undergoing customer service trainings and checking in with our resident sea turtles and other tropical fish to ensure we are ready for your return.

We appreciate your understanding and the entire team at Fitzroy Island Resort will be looking forward to your return in the near future.
