Fitzroy Island Activities Centre is located in the Resort, close to the reception. Hire services can be booked on arrival.

Tropical North Queensland has a stinger season from November to late May; for guest safety, it is essential anyone going in the water wears a protective stinger suit.  These suits also act as sun protection and are available at Fitzroy Island Activities Centre.

Fitzroy Island Activities Centre services include:

Credit card imprint refundable deposit or other form of security deposit is required for all rentals.

Guided SUP Tour with What’SUP Cairns

Your experienced instructor Allie provides a 20 minute lesson in the shallow waters, before paddling out to see coral, marine life and a stunning view of the island.

Tours are intimate with just 4 people, or up to 9 people when pre-booking.

The Details:

  • When: Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday (everyday during the School Holidays)
  • Costs: $60 Adult | $40 Children 8+ | Children under 8 yrs are free and ride parents board)
  • Duration: 1.5 hours
  • Includes: All equipment, lesson on paddling, rescues and a full guide looking for turtles.
  • Group Numbers: Max 4 in a group for private tours. Groups of 9 possible if pre requested.

Guided Snorkel Tour for Beginners

Discover the magic of the underwater world with our beginner’s guided snorkel tour in the calm sheltered waters of Welcome Bay on Fitzroy Island. Your knowledgable tour guide will show you a variety of different marine life and corals, you may even encounter a friendly Green Sea Turtle that frequent the waters around the island!

The Details:

  • When: Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday at 10am*
  • Duration: 1 hour (please arrive 10 minutes early)
    – 9:50-10am: Sign in and get your snorkelling gear fitted
    – 10-10:15am: Safety briefing and introduction
    – 10:15-11am: Guided snorkel in Welcome Bay
  • Cost: $35 per person (14+ years old)
  • Includes: Mask, snorkel, fins and guided tour. Stinger suits are not included but will be required during stinger season at an additional cost.
  • Max capacity: 7 people
